about

What’s up duderino? This is Darko The Super. Welcome 2 "The Meeting Place", my new concept album hosted by actor Biff Wiff (from "I Think You Should Leave", "Everything Everywhere All at Once", etc.).

Each song on “The Meeting Place” pays homage to something I love. “Billionaire Space Race” is my version of Gil Scott Heron’s “Whitey on the Moon”. I covered Frank Zappa's “Bobby Brown Goes Down”. I repurposed “Jockin’ Jay Z", into “Jockin’ Jay Dee”, to pay homage to the greatest producer of all time J Dilla. I expounded on “Bring” by The Spits and spun it into a story (I’ve done this previously with their song “Suzy’s Face” on my album “The Devil Defeated” with Steel Tipped Dove). I remade a classic K.M.D. beat sampling “Pieces of a Man”. I took Sherryl Lee’s poem that she wrote to her character Laura Palmer and flipped it into me portraying my alias. I did my own version of Kool Keith's “I Don’t Believe You”. My favorite song on the album is my ode to Biz Markie called “I Need a Haircut Too” in which I remade the beat for "Alone Again". I even took a hook from Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back" for "Hey Ladies". Then to wrap things up, I shout out every artist reimagined on the album in the tune of Ultramagnetic MC’s “Checking My Style”.

This album is my way of expressing how we’re all connected through our favorite things. Especially entertainment. It’s what progresses conversations, builds relationships, and usually tells a lot about a person. The common ground we find as human beings looking to communicate who we are and how we feel is “The Meeting Place”. Oh, and it’s also the title of an amazing XTC song.

Both the CD and bonus 10" record will have their own Golden Ticket style contest. If you get the winning CD, you’ll receive a U Don’t Deserve This Beautiful Art gold chain personally engraved with whatever you’d like written on it. A one of a kind. In addition, there will be 10 copies of a bonus 10” Vinyl EP up for grabs. That record will have a secret message at the end and my phone number to call. The first person to call and tell me the code word wins! They’ll receive “The Meeting Place” double LP, plus 4 copies of the test press which will show alternative artwork when aligned properly. Also, out of the 10 records, there will be 1 clear copy. If you receive that record, you win a gold chain with a different special UDDTBA logo.
